The Mag Seven and End Sounds have decided to do something very odd in the world of punk (certainly has never happened in surf) and release two songs from the band's album Knife To A Gunfight (END 1015) under a license that will allow fans and fellow musicians to remix the songs and include samples of the material in new works of auditory art.  We're curious to see what people come up with (e.g. lyrics for previously instrumental songs).

"The Room Got Sexy When We Walked In" (track 7 from Knife To A Gunfight) and "Back On The Streets...Tonight!" (track 13 from Knife To A Gunfight) will be offered under a modified Creative Commons Sampling Plus license.

In case you couldn't already tell by looking at the End Sounds artists page, we have signed a new band (of old friends) called True Widow.  The band is brooding and haunting slowcore in a blend of country, garage, and shoegaze with Dan Phillips' (ex-Slowride) signature morphine drip vocal melodies.  True Widow's debut full-length will be out in Fall 2008 and the band goes into The Echo Lab studio with Matt Pence (Centro-Matic, Ester Drang, Aqueduct) starting in May.  Welcome the widow and drop by the band's MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/truewidow.

Red Animal War has just posted an unreleased song "So Wrong" on their MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/redanimalwar).  So awesome.

Sailor Jerry and End Sounds are having an afterparty for the premiere of the Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins film Hori Smoku on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 @ The Jackalope in Austin, TX.  Orginal art by Sailor Jerry himself will be on display and Ed Hardy and others will be there to host.  Music is of course provided by the End Sounds family.

Luke Abbey from Gorilla Biscuits will be playing drums in the all-star Black Flag tribute band Nervous Breakdown at the band's only show on 3/10 at Emo's Lounge (aka Emo's IV) in Austin, TX.
