Vote for our SXSW Panel "The New Economics of the Music and Publishing Industries ".  Jonathan Gill (Co-Founder and President) of End Sounds has a SXSW Panel for SXSW 2010 that is currently under consideration for SXSW Music.  Voting (which counts for 30% of the final score) ends soon so hurry.

Panel Summary: A discussion of the problems facing the similarly modeled music and book publishing industries and how people and companies at various stages of maturity are coming up with new models and ways to grow and provide value to consumers and artists alike.

We just got some footage in of the End Sounds 2009 Pre-SXSW Party/Show right here in our hometown of Austin, TX.  In continuing our annual tradition of putting together the "Punkers of Punk" (e.g. one time only cover bands with our friends), this year we had a Minor Threat tribute band called Filler.

End Sounds' official SXSW showcase will take place on Friday, March 20, 2009 at The Independent.  The show is a split showcase between us and some great bands from Ernest Jenning Record Company.

We're having our second annual pre-SXSW music show/party on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Red 7 (611 E 7th St, Austin, TX 78701).    Here's some more info on the 3/17 show with more forthcoming.  We can tell you now that Madball will also be playing.  If you are in town for SXSW or can come out, please do...and spread the word by any means possible.

Similar to last year (where we had a one time only Black Flag tribute band aptly titled Nervous Breakdown), the headlining band will be a one time only Minor Threat cover band (e.g. the band's not playing any other shows together ever) featuring:

Three End Sounds artists have accepted their SXSW 2009 invitations, with hopefully more on the horizon.  Death In The Park, True Widow, and The Escape Frame will be playing the festival this year and hopefully our "super secret" new signing as well.
